fixed, the problems wl begin for this administration. this is just beginning the disaster of obama care. >> you never get a second chance to make a first impression. the first impression here was terrible. this thing is going to be an unmitigated political disaster for the president. >> not to be outdone, ted cruz, the tea party fire from texas quickly dismissed the good news telling his supporters via twitter, quote, faulty website is but one symptom of obama care. others higher premiums and cancel plans and decreased access to your doctor. >> i think they're going to have a harder time attacking this plan over and over again. particularly if you have a million people going to the site today and eventually by the end of december having maybe a million people signing up, it shows that people want this. and what are they going to say at that point? repeal means saying no to those people who are happy because they've enrolled. we're taking this away from you. that's why october 1st was so important to them. they had to stop this. it was their last chance to stop this before people saw the

syndrome that everything the obama administration does it's another winston churchill bust that's been thrown out the window? >> well, most, but not all of the criticism is coming from the right. i mean, ray flynn was also among those who has been critical. >> who did he vote for? isn't he a scott friend guy? he's not exactly a democrat. >> he was clinton's appointee to the vatican. >> right. >> and you know, i think for these people, it really began with the former ambassadors to the vatican who feel -- >> tim nicholson is not a bad guy, but the former republican national chair -- >> he's a good guy. >> but he's the former republican national chairman. >> that is correct, but they feel their job -- that it's a slap because their job is getting a little less prestigious, but it's absolutely not true. >> charlie, what they're doing is taking -- [ everyone talking at once ] if they move the embassy to another building, which is inside a protected compound, it's a separate building, it's in a compound next to the united states embassy to italy. go ahead. >> yeah, the argument that james n

is the obama administration has used its executive authority to tinker with the law in where they think congress should have a say. some of this criticism reaches well beyond logic. let's go back to sarah palin. the notion death panels are in there. the first she referred to was end of life consultations. that was stripped from the legislation because of the uproar she caused. it's not in there now. but years later she's acting as if it is. so there's a bit of lunacy to these criticisms. it's not based in fact at all. that's what clouds this debate. you don't know what are pure fabrications or gripes. >> don't you think party appeal, sam, of sarah palin is she doesn't give a rat's butt what the facts are. and i think that is her wild attraction. she's almost squirrely in that way that she wants to say wild things. we'll say that's not true. she'll just come back and say that's being technical or you're dealing with facts there. >> or she'll find some other provision to claim it's a death panel. for example the independent payment advisory board. i agree with you. there's sort of an allu

to this excerpt from the book. quote, millions of citizens believe obama care is worse than any war. at least american soldiers have weapons with which to defend themselves. another quote claims that president obama's administration will use any opportunity to go after the second amendment right and other constitutional rights such as free speech. that's indoctrination. if that doesn't make your list this season, maybe this will. a china ware company is serving a serving tray with president obama's birth certificate. it's the perfect holiday gift for the birther in your family. i can think of some. >>> up next, the political civil war. hoping new fights on the right may cost the republicans a couple of winnable senate seats. remember how that happened last night? you're watching "hardball," the place for politics. [ male announcer ] you've got to try red lobster's four course seafood feast, just 15.99. start with soup, salad and cheddar bay biscuits then choose one of eight entrees plus dessert! four perfect courses, just 15.99. come in to red lobster today and sea food differently. where the

and for the rest of my presidency, that's where you should expect my administration to focus all our efforts. >> president obama said he wants america to be a magnet for a good middle class and good middle class jobs in manufacturing, infrastructure and energy. and made a vocal push for an increase in the minimum wage. but for those who work hard and play by the rules, is the american dream still achievable or have the rules changed to benefit the few at the expense of many? thank you both for joining us. congressman, you know all about what's going on in the house of representatives. it's run by republicans, and the republicans are run by their hard right. how do you get through a big bill. but the fact of the matter is much of this can begin in the senate. and i really believe if we can get the senate to act on some of this, much of it, it will force the house to really react. they are not going to originate any of this stuff. and i'm very pleased the president has now laid down a foundation that hopefully we will begin to build upon. a foundation that tells us that this is not just about
